Back to School Teacher Gift Idea

Name Plaque

My sister recently took over a class of her own, and I’m so proud of her. She’s been working hard to make the classroom her own, but it’s always a challenge, who has extra money on a teacher’s salary? I really wanted to give her a sweet and personal gift that she could use in her room. This little name plaque is a perfect little back to school teacher gift idea!

If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.

Make a name plaque

I found these cute little wooden plaques at Michaels for less than $2. I knew I could use them for lots of things, so several made their way into the cart and back home with me!

If you are a super talented hand lettering artist and can paint, this is a totally paintable project. I am not that kind of artist, so I pulled out my Cricut and EasyPress 2 to make mine.

These would be fabulous first day of school gifts for teachers!

Step 1

Open this cut file and type your teacher’s name.
I used the King Basil font. First, type the name, then ungroup the letters. Then, move each letter so they are touching each other (like cursive text). Select the text and weld.

Step 2

Send the project to cut. Remember to mirror the cut and place the Iron On on the cutting mat shiny side down.

Step 3

Press the base layer of Iron On onto the wood plaque.

Step 4

Layer the text and the apple and cover with the protective sheet, and press each one on.
