Winter Cocoa Party

Winter Cocoa Party. This winter has been unusually cold for us this year, and we have enjoyed every minute of it. We have made so many mugs of hot cocoa. So, before the scalding summer heat hits us, I decided to embrace the cooler temps one more time and set up a little hot cocoa stand. 

I set up a simple white shelf to hold the treats and some decor, I started a fire in the fire place, and I hung a sweet sign above the mantel. Since I hate the feeling of writing on a chalkboard, I created an SVG and uploaded it to Cricut Design Space and cute vinyl to apply to the chalkboard. I am pretty sure this is how I will do all chalkboard decorating from now on! So easy, and so cute. (Look for the SVG cut file in the shop soon) 

Since the shelf was a blank canvas, I gathered some buffalo checked goodies from Oriental Trading, and some decor from around the house to decorate. Sweet treats and warm milk were on the top shelf, The other shelves were decorated with a mix of old and new. I used my Cricut, vinyl, and EasyPress to make a custom banner. {One side says LOVE, the other says Cocoa) for the front of the shelf. 

We decided to snuggle up on the couch and watch some of the Winter Olympics while we sipped on cocoa and snacked on simple shortbread cookies, and yummy Cow Tales Lava Cake. 

This would also be a wonderful way to celebrate a Winter birthday. It was a wonderful way to soak up the last few magical moments of the Winter season before we jump into the warmer Spring and Summer months.
