My niece’s birthday was this weekend. And, as a family, we prefer to gift experiences instead of things. However, this year it was a little more of a challenge to come up with a fun Winter Birthday Celebration experience. Until last week when my husband and I were riding in our golf cart.
Winter Birthday Themes
I love love love working on my niece’s winter themed birthday parties! The Winter Wonderland Party was one of my very favorites! But her Fourth Birthday Winter Wonderland Party was just so fun and beautiful.
So, the bar was high, and I knew we needed to give her an experience she would never forget, and one that would be a great alternative to a traditional party!
Holiday Light Tour
My niece LOVES Christmas lights. (Think Elf) And she also loves our golf cart. So, I decided to transform our old golf cart back seat into a vintage style truck bed. Then, I filled with cozy blankets and fluffy pillows.
I also ordered the.most.adorable custom cookies from Mama Made Cookies. They looked so cute in a birch log style bowl. I filled a gift box with some of her favorite candies. And, I filled a bucket with fresh popcorn. Tiny cans of Santa Coke and hot cocoa were the perfect drinks for our adventure.
On the night of her birthday, we told her we had to get her present at a special location and asked my sister to meet us there in a few minutes. This gave us time to drive our golf cart close to a neighborhood that has the most amazing holiday light display ever! Before my niece arrived, we put all the blankets, pillows, and treats in the bed of the golf cart. Then, we turned on holiday music.
Once my niece arrived with the rest of the family, we piled into our transformed golf cart and took her for a drive through the magical light display. We drove through the neighborhood for several hours enjoying the holiday light display, and all of the yummy treats.
It was a different kind of winter birthday celebration, but I think it will be the beginning of a new family tradition.
