The Elements of Greatness. I am so thrilled to {finally} be able to share this fun Father’s Day Celebration! I was able to choose several items from Zazzle to share in a Father’s Day post. As a party blog, it only makes sense that I would share a celebration.
I wanted to host a party that is a little outside of my normal style. As soon as I saw the mini iPod speaker, I was in love! I decided to host a “hipster” style party, with a little retro, a little DIY, and a little bow tie magic.
Once I decided on the theme, I was able to gather supplies to put it all together. I “shopped” around my house for all of the decor. I used my throw from Tiny Prints, some of our metal buckets, an old phone, a DIY beer box, and even a pair of glasses! I saw this print from Small Moments and I knew I needed to incorporate it! Kim was sweet enough to resize it for me to use as an engineer print and attach to my backdrop (or my son’s quilt, shhhh). It was the perfect addition to the party. I added bowties from Southern Sweet to the cake and pie stands, and used cigar boxes to elevate a vintage style phone (flowers were too girly) and the license plate beer box I made. I filled a metal bucket with ice and bottled coke for the younger crowd, and I stumbled across some fun hipster glasses straws, the kids thought they were the bees knees using them!
I bought store bought treats that everyone loves, and I got to work on a small DIY project to hold the beer. I served apple pie, chocolate cake, chocolate candies, and Chex Mix, along with drinks at the party.
We gave my husband a funny Tesla vs. Edison t-shirt and some custom spicy BBQ sauce from Zazzle. My hubby loves Tesla, and was so thrilled with the shirt. He also fancies himself a master griller, so the sauce was a nice treat too. Zazzle has so many fabulous gift ideas, from funny to sweet and sincere, there are so many options. Plus, they are offering up to 60% off Custom Father’s Day gifts until 6/11/15. One of my favorite gift ideas for Dad, aside from the retro iPod speaker, BBQ sauce, and shirt I got for my hubby, is the Patriotic Vintage American Flag Baseball. I would pair it with tickets to the hometown baseball team and spend the day celebrating dad at the ball field.
We had a fantastic day celebrating Dad, and he is thrilled with his gifts.
