Super Bowl Watch Party
Super Bowl Watch Party. Do you watch the Super Bowl for the game, the food, the commercials, or the Half Time Show? I have to be honest, I am more of a food, commercial, and Half Time Show kind of girl. I literally have no idea what is going on half the time during the game…This year is not any different. My boys and hubby watch the Big Game for the game, the food, and the commercials. Either way, it’s a lot of fun for everyone!

We typically invite a few people over to hang out and watch the game with us. And, football food is a BIG DEAL! This year I am going to make meatball sliders, our semi famous chili, wings and veggies, and desserts. Meatballs are a favorite in our house, so when I make them I typically make a triple batch so we can freeze some for later. Then, when we want to have meatballs later on, I just pop them in the crock pot with marinara sauce and they are ready to eat by dinner time. For our Super Bowl Party I will serve them on mini rolls with provolone cheese. They are perfect for game day snacking, but hearty enough to count as a meal.
Since we plan on watching the Bowl in our living room, I will serve the food directly from our kitchen. It makes serving and clean up a breeze. When we host indoor parties, I like to serve food in a crock pot, it keeps everything warm, and is self serve. I keep our island almost empty, so people can congregate around it and socialize and eat. The warm food and some plates are kept on the opposite side of the island, while the cooler foods and snacks are on the dining table.
Pineapple Paper Co. created a mini printable Super Bowl party suite. {You can purchase and download it here} The banner is perfect above the stove. Just print, punch holes in the top, and string baker’s twine through the holes. I used clear tape to hang it on the cabinets. Party circles were fun additions to the silverware buckets from Oriental Trading Company. I also added some to the our crock pots. My favorite printable has to be the vintage style team pennants. They are sized to fit on standard printer paper. I cut them out, and hot glued them to bamboo skewers. To hold each one upright, I filled glass milk jugs with pretzel bites and stuck the skewers into the jugs.
Oriental Trading Company has Super Bowl serviceware, including food trays for smaller hands. The kids were so excited to see those in my OTC order. They cannot wait for our Super Bowl Party!
A party isn’t a party at our house without plenty of sweet treats! One of my boys loves to make chocolate candies, so we thought it would be fun to make little Caramel Cream sauce football candies. We coated the mold with a thin layer of chocolate and allowed it to cool. While it cooled, we made Caramel Cream sauce. {Melt Caramel Creams with cream in a sauce pan.} Once the sauce cools to room temp, spoon it into the chocolate molds. Then, top with more melted chocolate. Place in the fridge until the chocolate sets, and remove from the molds. We’ll serve them on a simple white tray with Caramel Cream candies. We will have more sweet treats available too, but these are the cutest!
