Everyone gathered at my place. The kids were stuck inside (playing on one of our many game systems, poor things) while the moms crafted, chatted, and enjoyed cocktails.
Before the party, my husband and I brought some of our tools out to the back deck, along with some scrap wood, pre-cut wood projects, spray paint, chalk paint, paint paint, and other supplies. (The tools I use most were on the tables: My Rockwell Blade Runner is a GREAT tool for new saw users (and is on sale for a screaming deal)! It is light weight, not too loud, and can cut nearly ANYTHING. Our Ridgid Drills, the hammer drill is a beast, and can be too heavy for me some days, but the impact driver is so great to use. And my Ryobi palm sander…it is a new addition to our tool collection after I got fed up with our last one always losing the sand paper. This one is FABULOUS, it never loses the sandpaper! Rust-O-Leum Spray Paint, DecoArt Chalk Paint, and Modern Masters Paint were available too! ) I set the table with wine glasses and paints to decorate them with, in case building wasn’t anyone’s idea of a fun afternoon. I also had my Cricut ready to cut from our iPads, and had those available on the table.
The table was stocked with drinks and snacks, plus I had a cooler of cold drinks and ice near by for mixed drinks and non-drinking friends.
We had a fabulous time creating and caching up, and many stayed for a cookout and pool time after the party “ended”! One lucky mom took home a Glossybox after the party, and everyone took home their projects, wine glasses, photo paper, card games, treats, and memories!
So we could all enjoy our time together, and not worry about who was snapping what photo, we really limited our photos during the party, and it was so great! Be sure to check out one of the projects we made using the Cricut with the DIY so you can make one too! (On the blog soon)
Many thanks to My Printly from HP, Bicycle, Entenmann’s Little Bites, Moms’ Night Out, and GLOSSYBOX, as well as BSMMedia for sponsoring this post! It was so great to have a “real” excuse to come together and enjoy each other’s company!
