I recently shared a fun Happy Camper cut file I used to make party favors for my mom’s 65th birthday party. Sixty-Five is a big birthday for anyone, but this was an especially bittersweet celebration. My mom’s mom, my Mimi, did not live to celebrate her 65th birthday. My mom’s brother, my uncle, also didn’t celebrate his 65th birthday. So, we had to celebrate big for my mom. And, for as long as I can remember, she has wanted a pop up camper. So, I did everything in my power and a little more to make sure my mom had her own pop up camper for her birthday, and we celebrated with all of her friends and family with a woodland camping party!
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Camp Themed Parties
Over the years, I have hosted several camping themed parties for my boys and even my niece.
My niece and I loved this Girls Camping Party I set up for her when she spent the day with me. And, who else set up a tent in the back yard and camped out during the summer? This Back Yard Camping Party was the perfect way to kick off a night under the stars (in our back yard) when the boys were younger.
Woodland Camping Party
When I finally found a pop up camper that I could afford for my mom’s birthday, I knew we would have a camping themed party for her too. I did not, however, expect her to want a woodland themed party. We bought the camper second hand and did some minor repairs and updating. And, we decorated it with a beach-y theme. But, for her party, she wanted a rustic theme. So, that’s what we did!
We had a dessert table set up with her favorite treats, including homemade s’mores marshmallows. We also had enough burgers and hot dogs to feed a small army. I styled each table with rustic woodland decorations. I use printable banners from LAURA’S little PARTY to decorate the food tables and the party favor table. (Check out the party favors each guest got in this Happy Camper SVG File post)
We set up the pop up camper outside. It was the perfect place to “pop” into and cool off. Just outside of the camper, I had a shade tent and folding camp chairs for the guests. We used an old kayak as a beer cooler for the party, I just set it up on saw horses and filled it with ice and beer.
We had corn hole, giant pick up sticks, giant checkers, and foam axe throwing in the yard for the kids of all ages to play. But, on the side yard, we built an axe throwing lane for the adults to use.
This was such a great celebration for my mom!
