Spooky Hallow’s Eve Party

Spooky Hallow’s Eve Party by LAURA’S little PARTY.  It’s no secret that I love LAURA’S little PARTY and Halloween, so when Laura put together this Spooky Hallow’s Eve Party, it obvious I would love it! From the snake chargers to the black chocolate apples…not one detail is overlooked.

Spooky spiders, and creepy crows. Black twigs & apples, and a skeleton’s nose. That’s what our party is made of! I was really drawn to the creepier side of Halloween this year, and was excited to create a dark + spooky Hallow’s Eve inspired party table.
Having two toddlers in the house reminded me that I shouldn’t make it too scary, but maybe just a bit on the creepy side.
I found some really great decor, and fun paper goods from HomeGoods, TJMaxx, and Michael’s. I incorporated bits of nature, along with bones, and creatures!

I added some branches to my Hallows Eve party set up. I took an actual branch that was pruned from my sister’s tree. I spotted it back in July, and asked if I could take it home. A coat of black Rustoleum spray paint, and they were transformed into a spooky branch for our Halloween table! I added black crows, and some pretty paper rosettes that read: Trick or Treat.

Cupcakes were placed inside of a webbed holder. The mini embellished rosettes were found at Michaels. I added black card stock to the back of each one, for contrast.

Nicole from Bella’s Bakery & Bowtique made these spooky-cool chocolate dipped apples. I love that she used real twigs! They coordinated so well with our Halloween set up, don’t you think?

I had fun creating one of my faux cakes. It was so simple, and added that pop of polka dots that I like to add in every party of mine. I stacked + covered 3 styrofoam rounds with polka dotted wrapping paper, and then trimmed it with pom-pom ribbon.
Spooky hanging spiders from Oriental Trading added a fun touch to our spooky tree. I loved that they were on the larger side. Very sturdy, and super sparkly!

I’m always looking to add a fun twist to the seating arrangement at my party tables. Chairs can certainly be fun, but I wanted to take it a step further for my spooky theme. I brought in big tree stumps, and used them as seating for our guests.
Once again, I found something else to transform from my sister’s backyard! She was gracious enough to part with some of her firewood. Thank you, Sara! Rustoleum helped make the stumps look spooky with just a light coat of their black spray paint.

I recently came across this really great American Crafts banner kit. You really need to check out their kits! It came with twine, and the triangles were already perforated which made the triangles very easy to remove, and assemble! Not only did the banner have that vintage feel I was going for, but it coordinated perfectly with the print on my table cover, and the ‘trick or treat’ paper rosettes. I always become giddy when something like this comes together!

For me, nothing says “creepy” like skulls & skeletons! I added a few heads to our Hallows Eve tablescape. I found them at Dollar Tree. They were the perfect size, and a great price! Setting the skulls on top of our plates was just plain spooky!

I got the spider web dessert plates from Oriental Trading. {a cute purple spider is hidden underneath the skull} I set the plates on top of a grapevine wreath that I embellished with vinyl realistic snakes, and scary spiders – also from Oriental Trading.

This cool bat pedestal was used to display an old pile of bones. They’re actually bone shaped sidewalk chalk that I found at Moskatels, in down town Los Angeles.

The bones added just the right amount of spooky, especially as they were shown being served on a platter. Eeek!
I added some assorted favor boxes that I embellished with krinkle paper, and small bones that I cut out from my Silhouette Cameo.
I displayed large “Boo” napkins under each place setting. I loved the look of them.
Let’s talk a bit about my backdrop. I loved how it made all my black decor POP! It’s a roll of wrapping paper I found at HomeGoods! Pretty neat, right?! I achieved the backdrop by attaching the roll of paper to my wall.
This beautiful haunted house was purchased from HomeGoods. I have zero willpower when it comes to shopping at that store, so when I spotted this gem on the shelf, I knew I wouldn’t, couldn’t, shouldn’t pass it up!

I was really anxious to incorporate black crows in one of my Halloween parties this year. I was inspired last year when I saw them displayed in one of the Main Street shops, on one of my many visits to Disneyland. I was in complete awe! They add just the right amount of creepy + spooky. I purchased these guys in bulk, from Dollar Tree.
