Country Fair Birthday PartyCountry Fair Birthday Party by Mindy Alyse Celebrations. I am a sucker for all things vintage, fairs make me swoon, this party makes my heart pitter patter.

Grayson’s Vintage Country Fair First Birthday was really inspired by the invitation I found from Party Monkey. I randomly came across it on Etsy one day, and knew that had to be the theme!

I DIY-ed a LOT of this party! From all the bunting and food backdrop, to the completely redone sweets hutch (which I found on craigslist for $20!), I was crafting for a month before the party. One of my favorite crafts was the red play barn. The kids loved it!

We served traditional “fair food” in darling paper products from Shop Sweet Lulu and beverages in mason jars. But guests really seemed to enjoy the sweets display the most! Cotton candy, churros, and home made mini pies were a hit! Instead of cake, Grayson got to eat blueberry pie, which he devoured!

The kids had plenty to play with. . . we had “pony” rides on a rocking horse, bobbing for ducks, hit the can, bubbles, and art station, the play barn, a water table, and swing rides. I also created a “photobooth” using a hanging family heirloom quilt.

I know many people who have said, why would you spend so much time and energy on a 1 year old birthday when they won’t remember it? And the truth is, this party was for him, but it was really for me too! I was celebrating making it through my first year of motherhood, and think I did a pretty good job! I hope one day Grayson looks back at these pictures and realizes how much his friends and family love him!
