Shark Week 2015
Shark Week 2015. If you follow EPM with any regularity, you know I am a huge fan of Shark Week. We host an annual shark week celebration, sometimes we invite lots of people, other times we just have the family over. We usually start the party just after dinner, and have the kids swim, and then we all watch the newest episode of Shark Week.
This year, we decided to have our party the first night of Shark Week. Since rain was in the forecast, I set up the table inside. We served popcorn, jello with sharks (my kids won’t let me not have it), Goldfish crackers, cupcakes, and salt water taffy. We had more snacks on our bar for guests to nibble on all night too.
I decorated the table with a boat shelf I have had for year, red shark flag bunting, a Shark Week sign (I made it with my Cricut, I will share the DIY soon), and favor buckets. I used my wooden chalk board to write a surf report sign and propped it in front of the table. The table had a dark blue table cloth on it, and the backdrop was an enlarged photo I took of a lifeguard station. (Many thank to Teknia Logistics for printing it up for me so quickly!) It was a simple set up, but I really loved the end result!
Guests took home small metal buckets with Australian Gold Sun Screen products, and shark soap. My dear friend and her daughter are just starting a small soap making business, and were kind enough to make enough soap with a toy shark inside for all of our guests!
We all had a fantastic time playing in the pool (until the rain came) and then watching several episodes of Shark Week! We are already planning our party for next year!
