Grossly Fun Halloween Treats
My sweet little niece has grown up surrounded by boys. She is truly the best of both worlds. She loves girly clothes and accessories, but she also enjoys the gross things my big boys like. Her current favorite Halloween treat is gummy severed fingers I picked up for my guys. But, of course she wanted to make them a little more her style. So we made some Grossly Fun Halloween Treats with our gummy fingers, and she couldn’t be happier!
Halloween Tricks or Treats
At six years old, my girly little niece believes everything is better with accessories. And Halloween candy is certainly no exception! When she saw the severed fingers, she was grossed out for just a second, and then proudly decided we should make severed finger necklaces. I don’t know if she’s a macabre genius or just a little weird. But, either way, we went with it and made the most delicious severed finger necklaces around.
Grossly Fun Halloween Treat Supplies
These yucky? yummy? little treats only take a few minutes to make and are easy enough for a six year old to make.
Supplies:
Bamboo Skewer
Scissors
Ribbon
Step 1
Begin by unwrapping an uneven amount of severed finger gummies. We used three for her necklaces.
Step 2
Use the skewer to poke a hole in the tops of the unwrapped gummy fingers. I had to help stretch the hole a little.
Step 3
Feed the straw through the hole. If you have plastic straws, you could rub a little cooking oil on the straw to help slide it in the gummy finger. We used the skewer to hold the hole open a little.
Step 4
Trim the straw to just slightly larger than the width of the gummy finger.
Step 5
Repeat steps 2-4 with each finger.
Step 6
Lace the ribbon through the straws and tie in a knot to make a necklace.
