DIY Pizza Bar Party
My husband loves pizza. I would almost say he loves it more than me some days. So, this year for his birthday, I bought him an amazing wood fired pizza oven. And, then I invited a few of his friends over to help us break in the new pizza oven and celebrate his birthday. Since everyone has their own favorite type of pizza, I set up a DIY Pizza Bar Party.
Set up a Pizza Bar
Pizza dough tastes best when it sits overnight, so I pre-made a huge batch of pizza dough. On the morning of the party, we formed smaller dough balls and covered them with plastic wrap.
An hour before the party, I set up our dining room table with all of the pizza toppings you could imagine.
We had olives, cheeses, basil, tomatoes, artichokes, meats, pineapple, peppers, onions, and more. Truly, it was a buffet of pizza toppings.
As guests arrived, they formed their dough into pizza crust, and topped it with red or white sauce. Then, they added all of their favorite toppings. Once their pies were ready, they walked them outside to the party deck and cooked them in the pizza oven for about a minute and a half!
We also had a bowl of pasta for guests to add their own mix ins to for a personalized pasta salad.
Pizza Party Decorations
I kept the decorations simple for this party. I covered the table with a checked table cloth, and used tomato sauce cans as vases. I added more space to the table by using white crates on their sides, and used fresh veggies to add color to simple white serving trays and bowls.
Pizza Party
This was easily one of the best parties we have ever had! Everyone LOVED the pizza, and took home an extra pie in a fun traditional pizza box. We’ve hosted a few smaller pizza bar parties since my husband’s birthday, and they are always a big hit!
