Simple Spooky Halloween Treat
Simple Spooky Halloween Treat. One of my family’s favorite treats is popcorn. We love it all, flavored, kettle, movie theater style…and this season, we love it covered in sticky gooey spider webs!
This popcorn treat is the perfect after school snack, and is on constant rotation right now. It has just the right balance of sweet and salty, and literally takes less than ten minutes to make, including popping the popcorn!
To make your own Spooky Popcorn Treats, you will need:
Popped Popcorn
8-10 Large Marshmallows
Butter or Cooking Oil Spray
Pop the popcorn and set aside.
Spray the inside of a microwave safe bowl with cooking spray or wipe with butter. Add marshmallows and melt for 30-45 seconds. Check them at 20 seconds to make sure they aren’t expanding out of the bowl.
Spray your hands with cooking spray or rub with butter, and carefully pinch of a small section of melted marshmallow. Pull the marshmallows apart and drape over the popcorn to create a web.
We put the popcorn into darling little single serve boxes from Martha Stewart’s Celebration Line available exclusively at Michaels, and added marshmallow spider webs to each box. Then, we topped the popcorn with spooky spider picks.
See how Pineapple Paper Co. made the spider picks here.
