Cotton Candy Party
Cotton Candy Party. I was recently asked to help celebrate the launch of the new Michaels exclusive Cricut Explore Air 2 Special Edition, Martha Stewart Bundle. You KNOW I HAD to say yes! Additionally, Martha launched an all-new assortment of party supplies and décor in 10 beautiful themes, exclusive to Michaels. Each one is as stunning as the next and include vibrant Pink Ombré and summertime Indigo to whimsical Iridescent and sophisticated Sterling. Each theme features an assortment of party-planning essentials! It’s the best of all worlds! And I am THRILLED to be sharing some of it!
The beautiful Iridescent Pink Party Line lends itself to so many fun themes, but I just could not see anything beyond fluffy clouds of pink cotton candy! I went to my local Michaels store and bought a cart full of iridescent bliss and immediately started drawing out the details for my whimsical party!
I wanted create an unexpected and fun backdrop for the party, so, I used tulle to make a cotton candy banner {I found the DIY on Pinterest}. It was perfectly adorable! Once the backdrop was hung, I got to work on the rest of the table.
I draped the table with a disposable Martha Stewart table cloth, and then hung a shining iridescent tassel banner across the front of the table. I thought it would be fun to use tiny iridescent clothes pins to hold small bags of cotton candy party favors.
On the table, I covered a cake form with soft pink cotton candy, obviously it couldn’t be eaten, but it was a stunning table centerpiece. On either side of the cotton candy “cake”, I placed iridescent cake plates with sweet pink frosted cupcakes, and cotton candy topped sugar cookies. I cut food tents in half and added iridescent vinyl text, and then placed them in glittering picture frames.
Fun iridescent buckets were filled with pink straws, and confetti tubes. Adorable star shaped favor bags were filled with sweet trinkets, and finished off with a Cricut print then cut scalloped tag from the Martha Stewart projects. I added them to a coordinating tray in front of the cake.
I covered plain card stock with more iridescent Cricut vinyl, and then cut darling scalloped party hats and cupcake liners {also from the Martha Stewart projects}. To save vinyl and paper, select a 12×24″ cutting mat, and rotate the image to fit within 12×12″. I hot glued the hats together, and then added a tuft of tulle “cotton candy” to the tops. I finished them off with a little ribbon from the party line.
Finally, I flanked the table with festive helium balloons, and I am absolutely in love with the confetti filled balloons!
This party was so much fun to style, and I am thrilled to be able to share it with you, and then pass the unused decor items to a local charity for children of domestic violence survivors! I hope a sweet little one will enjoy the cotton candy birthday party of their dreams!
