Football Tailgating Party
Last year for my son’s 9th birthday, we hosted a football tailgating party. My sons and husband are huge UGA fans, and I knew we could have an awesome and budget friendly party for kids and adults.
My husband and I spray painted a football field in our front yard with Krylon spray paint, complete with a mini replica of the UGA logo at centerfield. We made simple PVC goalposts for the kids (and adults) to finish the field. On the other side of the yard, we set up a pop up tent with tailgating foods, and a dessert table. We backed our van into the yard, and added decorations to the back of it. Decorations were affordable and easy to do. I used Dollar Tree buckets to hold some food, and crock pots for the rest, and I added black vinyl polka dots and the UGA “G” to make them match our party theme.
Since his party, my son has asked me over and over again to have another football party, and who am I to say no? I have been busy on Pinterest gathering more ideas and recipes for our next football party. And despite our UGA boys not being bowl bound this year, we will still have an awesome football party and enjoy the company of good friends and family!
