New Year’s Eve Party on a Budget
Here are some super simple last minute ideas to add a pizzazz to your New Year’s Eve celebration.
Want a fun low cost centerpiece? Raid your recycle container and grab some glitter spray paint. Paint your bottles, add some curling ribbon and number 10 – 1 and you have a sparkly center piece for very little cost!
I have 4 boys, 3 of whom are 6 and 4, so we don’t do formal parties. However, that doesn’t mean that I can’t have a little fun with my table. I have always wanted to set a fancy table with complete with clock chargers, but lets face it they would become frisbees at the table and we don’t sit down to eat on new years we graze all night! So I set a stack of chargers on our serving table and hot glued on some glittery black numbers to give the illusion of fancy. They will just sit there all night but it will make me happy.
For the dessert table I decided to make it interactive. My boys are in a me, me, me phase so I really want to focus on thinking of others in 2014. I decided that on every hour we would open a box and it would tell us who to make a wish for in 2014. Then we would place them in our wish jar.
Here is the list I created:
8:00 – Make a wish for a friend.
9:00 – Make a wish for your family.
10:00 – Make a wish for your brothers.
11:00 – Make a wish for your teacher.
12:00 – Make a wish for yourself.
We will look at all the wishes in the wish jar on New Year’s Day and see how we can help to make the wishes come true. Here’s hoping someone wishes for no fighting with their brothers!!
My wish for you is a wonderful 2014 filled with great family memories! Happy New Year!!
