Simple Grilled BBQ Ribs. Y’all, I am so.ready.for Summer! The chaos of the last few weeks of school is consuming me…I need time in the back yard with the kids and the family, the bbq grill fired up, and delicious food slow cooking…hand me a cold drink, and some fresh melon, and I am a happy, happy girl! One of my hubby’s favorite things is his grill, he frowns on me using it…it’s like his pride and joy. So, I gladly hand over the task of making dinner whenever I can. My boys love BBQ ribs. Seriously, one of the boys can polish off a full rack on his own! So, when I can find some Smithfield® Fresh Pork Back Ribs at Walmart, I grab them! (They are a hot ticket item at my local stores) My local stores keep them in the cold meat case just past the deli. Smithfield Ribs are hand-trimmed, with no added hormones or steroids. Smithfield Extra Tender fresh pork is more tender and juicy, making it so easy to grill up moist and delicious ribs with very little effort! We use a rub for our ribs, and then offer our favorite bbq sauce, KC Masterpiece, to our guests after the ribs come off the grill. A mix of our homemade bbq rub covers the ribs before they are put on the grill, and about 20 minutes before the ribs come off the grill, we sprinkle turbanado sugar on top to add a nice sweet crusted glaze.

We use a charcoal grill with Kingsford Lump Charcoal Briquettes with Applewood and an additional metal tray of apple wood chips in water to add more of a smokey wood flavor. We keep the grill temp around 350*, with the charcoal baskets on the side of the grill, instead of in the center. Grill the ribs covered for 3.5 hours, rotating around the grill every hour or so. Thats it! So simple! We prepped the ribs in less time than it took to cut watermelon, and cooked them while we hung out with our guests and swam in the pool. It was totally effortless and delicious!

I love the use of turbinado sugar in that rub! We just made ribs last weekend, but now I am totally craving them again. Thanks for sharing! #client

So is the above recipe calling for one rack of ribs or two? Kind of an important detail to leave out.
everydaypartymagazine says
Hi John,
We used two small racks, but there was plenty of seasoning left over.
