Amazing Shake Recipe. It should come as no surprise that I love Tervis cups. As a little girl, I was so intrigued by the cups my great-grandparents handed me that had little patches and fly fishing lures in them…as an adult, I fell in love with them again. They are perfect for pools, little kids, clumsy adults…and everyone in between. As a result, my children love Tervis cups too. My son asked if we could make custom Valentine’s Day Tervis cups for him and his girlfriend, and of course I agreed. But, he also wants to treat her to a sweet dessert and meal, so we have been playing with dessert shake recipes all week, and found *the one! And, just for fun, because I am an adult, I made a more adult friendly version too.
My son, loves hanging out at Barnes and Noble and found the Crazy Shakes and Craft Burgers cook book, and, of course, brought it home (on my dime, LOL). The cook book was the inspiration behind our experiments. My sweet boy also doesn’t like to experiment with flavors too much, so I was a tad limited, but, we made an amazing shake recipe, none the less.
We started with our custom Tervis cups. (Come back tomorrow to see how we made them custom in a snap) We trimmed the outer lip of the cup with homemade chocolate buttercream frosting, and stuck butterscotch chips around the edge. This is totally an open canvas, you could add sprinkles, candy pieces, whatever strikes your fancy. Next, we made a rich and creamy chocolate milk shake. For the under 21 crowd, it was a simple chocolate shake, for the 21+, we added a small bottle of Kahlua to the blender. Once the shake was made, we got crazy with it! We topped it with scoops of frozen whipped cream. Then we added sprinkles from Baker’s Party Shop, and frosted cookies and red velvet cake bites from Target. We also added a few more red sprinkles on top.
[yumprint-recipe id=’79’]My son is so excited to make this special amazing shake for his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day in her custom Tervis cup. I think it’s sweet that he wanted to make custom cups for himself and his girlfriend, and even more sweet that he wants to make her an amazing shake to go in it!
