Holiday Party Lighting. Y’all, I have hosted no less than 5 holiday parties already this season, with plans for at least 3 more! I am on a roll…I have a beautifully decorated home, inside and out, and I want to see all of my loved ones as often as possible.
One of my lifesavers for every.single.party I host is Command™ Brand products…seriously, I love those things! I always have a variety of them in the house, but I truly love them around the holidays! Indoor lighting and garland hanging is a cinch with Command™ Clear Deco Clips and Command™ Clear Mini Hooks. My sons and hubby loved me so much for buying several packages of Command™ Outdoor Light Clips for around the roof line, the door frame, and the windows. I grabbed several packages of Command™ Brand products at Walmart while I was looking for new lights recently. They were all in the seasonal area, easy peasy! Once the outside was decorated, I thought I would ask my hubby if we could use the Command™ Outdoor Light Clips for lights along the ceiling of our exterior walkway, and on a piece of 2″x2″ wood to light up the walking path.
Our exterior required several packages of Command™ Outdoor Light Clips. My sons and husband stuck them around the roof line every 3′ or so, and around the window every 2′. We used 5 Command™ Outdoor Light Clips on an 8′ board along the walkway, and more around the doorway and along the edge of the walkway to help keep the cords tidy.
To make the walking path lighting, I used a sanded piece of 2″x2″ lumber I had at home already. I placed one Command™ Outdoor Light Clip every 2′ and allowed the adhesive to set for an hour, per the package instructions. Once they were fully set, I clipped a strand of LED lights to the board. I laid the board along the walkway in the garden, and added wooden stakes behind it. For a little more security, I used our nail gun to attach the stakes to the lighted board. It literally took about 10 minutes of work, but I love the lights along the walkway so much, I may stain the board and leave it outside permanently! But, if I change my mind in a few months, I can easily remove the lights, and re-use the wood for any other project I come up with.
My husband’s favorite part of our outdoor lighting display is the snowflake projecting lights along the exterior walkway ceiling. And, despite the lights being designed to stake into the ground, we were able to use Command™ Outdoor Light Clips hooked near each bulb to make the strand hang. We all love the way the lights bounce from the ceiling throughout the walkway!
Of course I needed to add lights and decor inside the house too! Our most recent party was for my niece’s 4th birthday. She wanted a winter wonderland with lots of sparkling lights, reindeer, Santa Claus, and all of her friends. So, that is what we did! I brought in my favorite wooden backdrop, and our pallet bar to showcase the desserts. I love this backdrop so much, the idea of altering it all the time with screws and nails makes me a little sick, so I use Command™ Clear Mini Hooks ALL THE TIME. This time, I hung them around the perimeter of the backdrop. Once they were secure (30 mins according to package directions) I hung a beautiful strand of silver dipped Edison style lights. They looked like vintage marquee lights around the backdrop. I used the same Command™ Clear Mini Hooks along the front of the pallet bar to hold the snowflake banner I recently made and a strand of LED lights. The focal piece of the backdrop was a stuffed reindeer head, and I was able to easily hang it using Command™ Clear Deco Clips! Homemade stockings were also easily hung using Command™ Clear Deco Clips.
Next to the dessert table, I used a huge wrapped box as a reindeer food station. I used Command™ Clear Mini Hooks to hold a strand of snowflake decorated mini clothes pins. The clothes pins were the perfect way to display and hold cello bags both before and after they were filled with magic reindeer food.
I would be lost with out my Command™ Brand products, seriously! Remember, indoor products must be used indoors and outdoor product must be used outdoors. Command™ Brand hooks are perfect throughout the holidays, they hold where nails and screws don’t work, yet remove cleanly from walls. They are perfect for indecisive people, and people like me that have a million parties during the holidays, but want each one to be different. Command™ Brand products allow you to change your mind and change decor between the holidays without fear of holes or damage.
