Simple No Sew Stocking DIY. Last year we welcomed a furry little brat dog into our home. He has us all wrapped around his furry little paw, and has taken over the house. He loves treats, yummy food, stuffed animals, the occasional shoe, and getting presents.
On a recent trip to my favorite store, Target, I saw Purina foods and holiday treats on the pet aisle and I picked some up for Ed. Ed has celebrated each holiday with us in the 16 months since we adopted him, and our boys expect that Ed will have gifts under the tree and in a stocking. (I was totally admonished for that last year when the boys realized Ed did not have his own stocking) Purina and Target have teamed up this holiday season to make it easier than ever to truly treat your pet with a high value in-store text coupon offer which will allow shoppers to save $10 off any $40 purchase of Purina products! Since ALL Purina products are included you can truly stock up on all of your pet’s favorites treats and food, and even grab something a little extra for the holidays. Ed is a picky eater and tends to have tummy troubles when he eats some foods, Purina is a go to for all of his treats and foods. Purina really offers food and treats for all stages of a pet’s life. Starting next week, December 4th, 2016, you can text PETS10 to 827438 for $10 off your $40 purchase of Purina at Target! (Note: Data and messaging fees may apply and vary based on individual mobile carrier. Not all mobile carriers and plans may support the text coupon offer system.) Seriously, no coupon to clip, a quick text in the store, and you’ve got $10 off! This would be a great opportunity to stock up or even buy for a local animal shelter this season. We grabbed some dry food, some special wet food, and treats for Ed while we were at Target. Then, I came home and made him his own simple no sew stocking.
Supplies:
Burlap
Felt
Hot Glue Gun and Glue
Pen
Scissors
Purina Treats from Target
Start by drawing out your stocking shape on the inside of the stocking fabric. I traced one of my boys’ stockings for this. I used laminated burlap to make this stocking so it didn’t fray when I cut it. Fold the burlap so the outside of the fabric is touching, and the inside of the fabric is showing. Cut around your traced stocking, you will have two stocking shapes.
Lay one on top of the other, with the outside of the fabric touching on the inside still, and hot glue them together along the edge. Your stocking will be inside out now.
Flip the stocking right side out now. You can leave it like this, or you can add some felt trim.
Cut a piece of felt long enough to go around the top of the stocking, and an inch wider than you want the trim to be. Cuff the top of the stocking, exposing the top inch of the inside. Hot glue the felt to the cuff all the way around. Flip the cuff back, and fold the excess felt over the top. I braided a scrap of felt to make a hook, and hot glued it on the inside of the stocking too.
Fill with treats for your pet. When I was at Target, I picked up a chew rope, a squeaky toy, a jacket, and lots of Purina treats and food for Ed’s stocking and under the tree! Be sure to text the code PETS10 to 827438 for $10 off your $40 purchase of Purina on your next trip to Target too!
I love this stocking so much I think I am going to make some for the hubs and I, and I may get super ambitious and make some as party favor bags for a few upcoming parties we have! So cute, so easy, and so affordable!

I love the idea of hand making a stocking for my pet! I bet this blank canvas could really be personalized throughout the years, too! #client

I agree! I thought about adding some iron on vinyl to it, but I just loved the simple look so much, I decided to leave it as it was…for now 🙂
