Housewarming gift idea. The hubs and I were recently invited to a housewarming party for a long time friend of his…the problem was, though, they are an established couple, married for twenty years, with three kids, and previous home owners…what do they really need? Nothing, nothing at all. And, I didn’t want to give them a gift card, I could have, but I really wanted to make the gift more personal.
As luck would have it, I also recently joined the Grove Collaborative Affiliate Group (Check it out here for a free Mrs. Meyers Hand Soap – my favorite, ever- and a $10 credit for your next purchase) . So, that was my first stop when I was looking for our friend’s housewarming gift. I selected several of my favorite brands, and some that were new to me, but I already love. Hand soaps, cleaning products, amazing kitchen towels, a candle, and a few other niceties…Then, I purchased a bottle of wine, two Tervis stemless wine glasses, some plush towels for the master bath, and a vintage style basket to put everything in. I seriously had a hard time giving up the basket! I know, you’re probably thinking why would I give someone soap, am I trying to gently tell them they are bad housekeepers? No!! I love getting house things I wouldn’t typically buy for myself. I also like to try something before I buy it…so, $4-6 on hand soap isn’t something I will just buy on a whim. Now that I have used most of these products, I will continue, because I see the value in them…so, I like giving them as gifts too.
Once I arranged all the goodies in the basket, I made a nice little tag to hang from it, and we were ready to go!
Our friend truly loved her basket, and has made a point to tell me that she went and bought refills of a few of the cleaning products in her basket because she loved them so much!
It was great to give gifts I love and are socially conscious brands too.
Be sure to check out Grove Co. too, I cannot get enough of their site. I love everything I have used so far, and their prices are great!
