My sweet niece and nephew (and I) are having a hard time not seeing each other whenever we want. We live less than 15 minutes from each other, and I haven’t seen them in nearly a month. So, I have been trying to find ways to show them I love them without seeing them. And, I came up with Three Easy Ways to Spread Joy With the Cricut Joy!
This review is based strictly on my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the product listed above. I was provided the sample free of charge by the company or PR agency and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.

Even if you already have a Maker or Air 2, Cricut Joy opens additional creative possibilities with unique features and is the perfect companion for quick, mat-free projects and long cuts!
How to Use Cricut Joy
Mats optional! Let me repeat that, cutting mats are optional!!! Cricut Joy has a full suite of brand-new materials that do not require a mat, meaning less to buy, fewer steps, and faster results. New Smart vinyl comes in extended sizes, with up to 20’ repeated cut capability, and no need to switch out multiple mats. Which is totally amazing!
Cricut Joy exclusive blank insert card sets allow you to create unique and stunning results in a moment’s notice.
Cricut Joy writes, too! A full suite of Cricut Joy-compatible pens with a variety of pen types and line weights draw and write in a variety of styles. I was so excited when I saw how well the pens worked on the vinyl!
Cricut Joy is so fun to use, I think I am going to buy one for my sister to use in her classroom and with my niece and nephew!
Spread Joy with Cricut Joy
I super miss spending time with my niece and nephew, so I have been trying to find ways to share a little happiness with them. But, guys, I have four teenage boys at home, three are distance learning, the hubs and I are working at home, the gym is closed, the ice rink is closed…I need something easy, and quick. Because, frankly, I don’t have the bandwidth to do a lot right now.
Movie Night Gift Box
I am so excited that so many big box offices are releasing first run movies to streaming services! We love to see movies together, so I thought it would be fun to share a movie night gift box with my niece and nephew.
Since I can’t run to the store to gather a bunch of supplies, I used what I had at home to make this little box. I quickly painted a shipping box we had in the garage, and filled it with some paper fill, bags of popcorn, and soda. But, the box was kinda blah.
So, I took out my Cricut Joy and quickly made some fun letters and tickets to decorate the box. Then, I used a sticker maker to add adhesive to the back and decorated the box.
This cute project took less than 10 minutes to put together, not including drying time!
Movie Box Supplies
- Cricut Joy
- Project Cut File
- Cricut Card Stock
- Amazon Link – Sticker Maker or Adhesive
- Box and Paint
- Popcorn, Candy, Soda
- Gift Card for Streaming Movie or DVD
- Paper Shreds or Tissue Paper
First, open the cut file and begin cutting the tickets and text. You will need a cutting mat for this project.
While the Joy cuts the paper, paint the box.
While the paint on the box dries, apply adhesive to the letters and tickets. Then, once the paint is fully dry, stick the letters on to the box.
Now, fill the box with paper shreds and treats. Use the tickets and Gift Card to decorate the box and treats.
Finally, drop it off at someone’s house to share a little Joy!
S’More Fun
Right now, it is so important to have more fun! So, we ordered special groceries for delivery and had s’mores. But, the boys missed their cousins and didn’t want them to miss out on the fun.
We found a little metal bucket and filled it with everything they would need to make their own s’mores. But the bucket was so plain, and I couldn’t leave it that way. So, I pulled out my Cricut Joy and that little bucket was ready for s’more fun in minutes!

- Marshmallows, Graham Crackers, Chocolate, Bamboo Skewers, Cello Bags or Baggies, and Ribbon
To make my sister’s life a little easier, I put a few marshmallows onto bamboo skewers. Then, I covered the skewers with cello bags and tied them shut with a cute ribbon.
While I worked on the marshmallow skewers, my Joy was making the cutest little label for our bucket. The label was ready way before the marshmallows were, LOL! I quickly added the new label to the bucket and filled it with everything my niece, nephew, and sister would need for s’more fun!
Bee Kind Neighbor Gift
A lot of my neighbors are my parents age or older, so as a family we try to keep an eye on them and be around if they need anything.
And, my neighbors asked me to keep an eye out for extra disinfectant spray recently. So, when I was able to add it to a grocery order, I grabbed an extra bottle for them as well.
And, of course I could have walked the bottle over to their house and it would have been fine, but I wanted to add a cute little tag to the bottle. So, I turned on my Cricut Joy and made a card in no time!

Then, use ribbon to tie it to the bottle of disinfectant or other treat.
Spread Joy
Right now, more than ever, it’s important to spread joy whenever possible. And, with the new Cricut Joy, it’s easier than ever to do so.
All three of these gift ideas took me less than 45 minutes to make. And, they brought joy to the people I love and care about, and to me!
