Simple Spring Banner. If you all have been around the blog awhile, you know my craft style can best be described as easy…Paper seems to confound me, but, bless my heart, I really do try. Which is why I love it when I can turn my paper visions into reality without too many bad words being uttered. This simple spring banner was so easy to make, I actually made TWO! I gathered coordinating Teresa Collins papers, my Cricut machine, my Xyron Create a Sticker, my Xyron Mega Tape Runner (the regular one would work just fine too, but a kid seems to have run off with mine), some baker’s twine, and a handful of gold Teresa Collins paper clips…because, I am fancy. Seriously, these are the paper clips you only use at home, and don’t just leave attached to a stack of papers. I opened up Cricut Design Space in the car on my phone while the hubs drove us home from NC last week and designed my banner. I wanted a simple banner with the word SPRING on it. I decided to add some sweet little butterflies to the ends too. I sized the banner flags to fit four on a 12×12 sheet of scrapbook paper, and then sized the letters and butterflies to fit the flags. It was a quick design!
I sent the project to my Cricut to cut, once they were cut, I ran the SPRING letters through my Xyron Sticker Maker, and attached them to the flags. Since I wanted the butterflies to have a little dimension, I used my Xyron Tape Runner to add adhesive to one side of the butterflies, then I randomly added them to two of the banner flags. On the back of the banner flags, I added a little strip of adhesive from my Tape Runner to hold the paper clips in place a little better. Next, I added the paper clips, and strung some gold baker’s twine through the paper clips.
Now, it was ready to hang! I hung one in the entryway of or house, over our rustic chalk board. I added some fresh flowers and sweet little bunnies to the entry table and now, I am almost ready for Spring!

I’m stealing your idea of using those pretty paper clips to hang a banner — they look so pretty hung like that! Also impressed you designed the banner on your phone in a car! 🙂
