Glass Jar Jack O Lantern
Simple Glass Jar Jack O Lantern DIY. I recently saw a cute little glass jar jack o lantern at Kohl’s. I instantly fell in love with it, and I wanted several, until I saw the price tag…I am cheap frugal, and I knew I could make some for much less!
As luck would have it, I found small glass jars in the Dollar Spot at Target, though, if I hadn’t I would have simply used spaghetti sauce jars.
Supplies:
Glass jar
Elmer’s School Glue
Orange food coloring
Paint brush
Black vinyl or paint
Flameless candle
Optional; Cricut
Mix a few drops of food coloring in a small bowl of Elmer’s School Glue. I used my paint brush to mix it. Then, paint the jar with the orange glue.
If you are painting your jack o lantern face on, wait for the glue to dry completely before painting the face on. If you are using vinyl for the face, cut it out while the glue dries. I used my Cricut and a face that is available in the design store.
Once the glue was completely dry, I carefully added the vinyl. You need to be careful when you apply the vinyl though, because if you need to reposition it, it can remove the glue and you will have to start over again.
Add a flameless candle, and put the lid back on and you’re finished!
This project cost just about $1.50 and was done in less than 25 minutes! Plus, you can wash the glue off and use the jar again for other projects.
