Ice Cream Play Doh. We recently had a little Ice Cream Party at the house with a few of our friends, and I wanted to make play doh for the kids that looked like ice cream. Actually, I wanted the kids to make their own 😉
Supplies:
Canned frosting
Powdered sugar
Food coloring
I have used this “recipe” before for photo shoots, and the kids loved playing with it after the shoot. I cannot remember where I found the recipe originally, but we have made it several times since I discovered it, and it’s always a hit.
I found a can of Key Lime frosting on clearance at Target for less than $1. I had the kids mix it with an entire 16 oz bag of powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl. They mixed it with their hands until it wasn’t sticky any more, and then they were able to play with it until their hearts were content. They used wooden spoons to cut it, and added sprinkles from Bakers Party Shop into it for fun! We even got some inexpensive ice cream cones for them to use.
This summer has been the summer of them DIYing their own activities and fun, and I love allowing them that freedom!
Be sure to come back all week for more ice cream and slushie recipes and party inspiration!
