Go Team Football Shirt DIY. Are you prepping for the big game? We will have a few friends and some family over, but, truthfully, I watch for the commercials and sometimes the halftime show. My hubby is excited to see his hometown team Rise Up, so I am excited for him.
My niece has just discovered that I can make custom shirts…I have made them for her since she was an infant, but I guess it finally just clicked with her recently. I thought it would be fun to make a special watch party shirt for her, and some different ones for her older brother and “the boys” as she calls her cousins. I know she doesn’t really care about sports that much, and I don’t want to try to make a specific team shirt. (Legalities and all.) This shirt is perfect for the big game and my niece.
Supplies:
Cricut and Cutting Mat
Cricut Iron On Vinyl in your choice of color and style. I used Iron-On Lite in red, black, and white
T-Shirt
Iron
Tea Towel or other light weight cotton fabric.
Open the Design Space cut file, and size it to fit your shirt. (Set Canvas, choose the style of shirt, and then select the correct size) Adjust the image to the correct size. And send it to the machine to cut. Be sure to mirror your cut.
Iron on to your shirt one layer at a time. I started with the G, then the football, the laces (can you even read that without thinking of Ace Ventura? “LACES OUT DAN”), and then I added the team vinyl just on top of the G and the football. It took me about 10 minutes from start to finish to make. It actually took me longer to take pictures of the shirt!
Be sure to check back next week to see what else we are doing to prep for the big game!
