DIY Bar Cart Table
DIY Bar Cart Table. I love the idea of a bar cart, and maybe one day I will have enough room in my home to own a true one, but until then…So, to satisfy my desire for a bar cart this holiday season, I made a folding table? luggage rack? style stand for a serving tray.
I am so very excited to be joining Remodelaholic’s Creative Christmas challenge this year. This challenge was the kick off for Remodelaholic’s #CreativeChristmas Series. There will be so many project tutorials and ideas, plus the week-long link party for any and all Christmas projects! Be sure to check out all the other super Creative Christmas ideas at the end of the post, and then, link up your own Creative Christmas ideas at the linky party!
For this project you will need:
2- 2″x2″x8′ boards
2 – 3.5″ bolts (1/4″)
2 – 1/4″ nuts
6 – Washers
8 – 2″ screws
Wood Glue
Fabric/Leather/Ribbon for straps
Drill and 1/4″ bit, and bit to pre-drill screw holes
Saw
Tape Measure
Staple Gun and Staples
Serving Tray
Cut 4 boards to 31″ long with 22.5* cuts on each end. They will need to be cut opposite on each side, into a trapezoid shape. (See diagram)
Drill 1/4″ hole in the exact middle of each board, and connect with bolt, washer, board, washer, board, washer, nut. When you open the boards, it will make an “X” shape. Repeat for remaining two boards.
Cut 2 more 2″x2″ boards to fit your serving tray. I cut mine to 13″
Apply wood glue to the tops of the “X” boards and lay the cross board on top, connecting the X pieces together. Pre-drill the holes to prevent splitting the wood and screw together. I used 2 screws on each end. Repeat on opposite side.
Cut fabric to desired width, and staple to the underside of the top boards.
Top with serving tray and voila! You are ready for holiday entertaining, and you have a cute, totally customizable bar cart!

I love this DIY table Jessica, it’s easy to move around the house and use it where your guests are. The colorful ribbon straps you added for a pop of color.
