It is officially summer here, and I am already tired of sharing my pool float with my children. So, I decided to make a custom pool float. Now, I know which float is mine, and maybe, just maybe, my children will stop using it for underwater wrestling.
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Summer DIY Projects
I feel like I am always doing DIY projects during the summer! And I love it.
This Simple Summer Bag DIY is still one of my favorite projects. And I use it every summer.
And, this Free Octopus Summer Sublimation File is absolutely my very favorite DIY so far! I adore this darling little octopus.
Make a Custom Pool Float
This was such a fun and simple project to make! It was done in less than 10 minutes, and it’s so darn cute!
You only need a few things to make a custom floatie, and it would be the perfect addition to a summer gift basket. If you are like me, you probably have everything you need at home already, but if not, check out my Amazon Store.
- Sweet Summer SVG File, use the code SWEETSUMMER to download it FREE!
- Cricut or Silhouette
- Adhesive Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Pool Float
Begin by downloading the Sweet Summer SVG file and upload it to Design Space or Silhouette Design Studio. Then, size it to fit your pool float. My float isn’t very big, so I was able to cut my vinyl to 14.5″ total.
I also wanted to use a vinyl scrap I had already, so I split the text and moved it around to fit on the cutting mat and vinyl scrap.
Once the vinyl has been cut, weed the excess and place transfer tape over the weeded vinyl text.
Now, place the vinyl onto the pool float, and remove the transfer tape. That’s it! It truly took me longer to write this how to post than it did to make the custom pool float.
