Thick 12″x12″ Card Stock (Kraft or colored)
Card stock 8.5″x11″ (white) for the free printable tag
Tape runner
Cricut and Cricut iPad App (free)
Cake
Baker’s Twine or ribbon
I am spending an exorbitant amount of time at the local baseball fields lately…with two kids playing and a husband coaching, we are there at least 4 days a week for h-o-u-r-s! And while I love cheering my guys on, I need to get things done too! So, I brought my iPad with me (and my wifi hotspot) and got to work on a few projects one night.
This is my iPad screen just before I sent it to cut. I made the box just shy of 11″ on one side.
My Cricut getting the job done. I did buy the scoring tool for this, but you could wing it too. I have the Cricut Explore with the Bluetooth adapter…so worth it’s weight in gold!
Once I got home from the ball fields, I put the boxes together with my tape runner. I left the back of the box open so I could slide the cake in easily. (I put the cake on parchment paper cut to fit, and slid it in using a butter knife) Once the cake was in the box, I tied some baker’s twine to the top and added the free printable tag.
Voila! A fun and easy Teacher Appreciation gift and most of the work can be done on the run!
