Valentine’s Party Styling Tips by Intrigue Design Studio
When it comes to styling a party there is more to it than a few pretty flowers and clever paper accents. Event Designer Sarah Campbell opens her Maryland design studio for a fun workshop designed to educate creatives on everything from decorating to event flow and table styling.
The theme of this month’s class was perfectly suited for Valentine’s Day with bursts of red, layers of pink and lots of hearts. Today Sarah is Sharing with us a few tips from the workshop on how to give your valentine’s party a few memorable touches.
1 – Color: When choosing flowers be creative with the color balance. By selecting 2-3 shades of each color selected your display will instantly have more depth.
2 – Paper: Get playful and place creative paper accents in unexpected places such as centerpieces, place settings and maybe even your beverage station.
3 – Sweets: Often sweets such as cookies, cupcakes and candy can be used both as a fun snack and a creative decorative item. Cute cookies placed on an accent table or a stylish cupcake at your guests seat will add a bit of whimsy to the display as well as adding to your menu for the afternoon.
