A Patriotic 4th of July
By Three Little Monkeys Studio
Many thanks to Gretchen from Three Little Monkeys Studio for sharing her Patriotic 4th of July party with us!
I have always enjoyed 4th of July celebrations, but my love for all thing patriotic has infinitely grown since I’ve had kids! Now I get to share their excitement for fireworks, BBQs, and staying up late for fun with friends and family. And, I am so excited this year because of all of the great products out right now to help you style the perfect Patriotic 4th of July!
This Patriotic 4th of July is bright and colorful, and it is also budget friendly. Patriotic music to my ears.
U.S. Toy has such a great selection of patriotic party supplies in stores and available online. I picked out so many fun things you see here: food picks, bandanas, plates and napkins, plus so many fun party favors to keep the kids entertained. (See the full vendor list below.)
For my table, I covered an old desk with inexpensive fabric and some vintage crates and serving pieces. I chose to serve desserts as an after meal treat, but you could just as easily serve BBQ or a sandwich bar instead of or in addition to pie and ice cream. Serve whatever best suits your needs.
And while you are thinking about food and drinks, don’t forget about decor. Inexpensive paper decor and banners add punches of color and add style to any display (I have a free download of the banner pictured for you below)!
A store bought blueberry pie becomes more special with a little decoration like these Fireworks Food Picks. My kids were obsessed with these food picks.
And these star food picks were fun too! Use them on cupcakes and brownies, or even savory foods like rolls, sandwiches, or stick them in BBQ in a jar.
A patriotic beverage tub was picked up from Target, stuffed with ice and filled with several flavors of soda and ice cream from Whole Foods.
Small mason jars of homemade sun tea were also served to provide a selection. I wrapped the jars with patriotic crepe paper rolls from U.S. Toy and then tied with a bit of jute twine.
Cute American flag plates and napkins were placed in a bandana-lined vintage box, and utensils and paper stripey straws were served to guests in simple bandana-lined mason jars. The inexpensive bandanas add punches of color and interest to ordinary objects that stand in as serving pieces in a pinch.
These plates and napkins were so festive. I’m pretty sure pie tastes much better on a cute plate!
I love adding a themed wreath to my front door to welcome guests and give them a hint of what is to come. My friend Bethany of Sweet Georgia Sweet made me this gorgeous Patriotic Wreath. You can also use inexpensive American flags from U.S. Toy as decor and place in potted plants on your front and back porch to carry the theme throughout.
And don’t forget the favors! I always like to grab some things to keep the kids entertained so the adults can chat and relax. Glass jars were filled with American Flags and Patriotic Pinwheels. And, our little guests were encouraged to grab a bag of fun!
An ordinary lunch bag was stuffed with all kinds of favors—coloring books, crayons, snappers and bottle poppers …
… Lady Liberty glasses that made the funniest photo ops and because everyone needs some cool shades …
And four different types of gliders that made this little guy beam!
It was definitely a fun 4th of July celebration!
