Think Pink. So, I know I may be one of the few, but I can honestly say I haven’t had anyone in my family or immediate circle of friends that has battled Breast Cancer. I also know there is a lot of controversy about the amount of donated money that is spent on research and cure development…but, even if you have an issue with the leading Breast Cancer donation charities, one thing they have done, for sure, is bring awareness. As a child I never even knew about it…as an adult, even though I don’t know anyone that has battled the disease, I know about it, I know to self check, and have regular check ups, I know that early diagnosis can save a life.
So, when Laura Kelly sent her design team a box of pink from Check in the Mail, I wasn’t entirely sure what to do with it…but, I decided to create a gift bag, and just drop it off at my church. There is a lady at church that is battling breast cancer right now, and I hope this little gift can put a smile on her face.
I made a gift bag using a sheet of Kunin Group Felt, ric rac, pom poms, and hot glue…because, I don’t sew. I filled it with Laura Kelly’s Survivor Leather Check Book Cover, Survivor Coin Purse (with a lucky penny and Hope Stone inside), and Survivor Debit Caddy Check Book Register. I also added some chocolate from World Market, some Laura Kelly coloring sheets, a pink Laura Kelly – Ellison art project kit, Udderly Smooth Lotion, a notebook, colored pencils, mints, and Redbox Codes.
