Taste{Full}-E Fun Football Party

Taste{Full}-E Fun Football Party

I am so lucky to be friends with and work so many talented party folks!  I am sharing fabulous football party inspiration all week to help you prepare for your own Superbowl celebrations, large or small! Today’s party is from The Taste{Full} Life.  She hosted a fabulous and Taste{Full}-E Fun Football party for her little one recently.  I love homemade parties in casual settings, this party is certainly one I would have felt at home at! Be sure to check out Tiffany’s blog, I know I will be going back to check out some more of her recipes!

From Tiffany:

Team E: Football Themed Birthday Party.

Remember the party I helped my sister-in-law plan back in June?  Well after listing out the top posts for 2013 and seeing that the sneak peek was among them, I figure I owe you the rest of the details! My sister-in-law loves to cook and try new appetizers so rather than my usual dessert buffet, she did a full table of football themed snacks and appetizers.  These ideas are perfect for a Super Bowl party as well!

She also served delicious buffalo chicken dip, hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, and more…

Decor
So here’s the thing. My sister-in-law is a pretty classic girl and I was so tempted to add things that were more “me,” than her.  Like chevron. Or orange. I kept catching myself but I just needed to add something to the brown, green, and white color scheme.  Then it hit me in the card stock aisle.  Black and white stripes.  So I sneaked it in and my sister-in-law approved. yay! “Happy Birthday” Pennant banner– created by my talented SIL, Christy.  “Team” Pennant banner (details below). Silverware holders– I wrapped cans in brown paper, added the white strips, and used grass napkins inside them.  Letter E– details below.

Backdrop: My typical foam core wrapped in fabric. The pennant banner was scrap paper pennants with letters printed on regular white card stock, cut with a circle cutter, and glued to the pennants.  The concessions banner was created by my talented SIL Christy.  Goal post: cutest thing ever but not as easy as it seemed.  I used wood glue and it wasn’t the best adhesive so I ended up taping it for reinforcement.  The cube is just green styro from Dollar Tree wrapped in grass print scrapbook paper. I spray painted wooden rods yellow for the actual goal post.  If I had it to do over I’d get this one.  So cute and you could actually reuse it.  Juice Boxes: annoying to wrap but oh-so-cute.  If you make them, remember to take the straws out before you wrap them…or you’ll have to dig them out after and ruin their sterile state.  shh. don’t tell. Letter E: just a big letter from Hobby Lobby modge podged with “leather” paper with a football’s texture.  I loved that addition!
 Party People:
My nephew helped label the bins. I couldn’t help but share his cute sign.
I just love chubby fingers eating birthday cake!
Well that’s it! We kept it pretty simple.  This totally made me long for the lazy days of summer. If it did the same to you…my bad.  Especially those of you who (like me) live in the freakin arctic.  Even though it’s super late, I thought I’d share since Play Offs are coming up and then the Super Bowl will be here before we know it! I could totally see incorporating some of these ideas into your game day grub or decor.
