Penguin Party. This semi-impromptu party was so much fun for my little guy and his friends, it was a fantastic way to spend a Tuesday afternoon after a long weekend! The great thing about this party is it took very little time to put together and it was super affordable.
Since it was an after school party, I was sure to have lots of arctic juice for the kids. I used a glass milk bottle and filled it with blue juice. I added a cute little fleece scrap scarf to the bottle. For the kids, I used smaller milk bottles from Oriental Trading Company (go to the coupon page here). I could have used plain bottles, but I wanted to make them a little more special, so I printed and cut Cricut vinyl stickers for the bottles and red striped straws. I added tiny fleece scarves to those bottles as well.
A small cake plate had loose Goldfish crackers on it, with a penguin nesting toy from Oriental Trading Company.
The centerpiece was a double duty decor and game piece, it, too was from Oriental Trading Company.
A party isn’t a party without cake, so I grabbed a small cake from our local grocery store, and added a SnoBall cupcake to the top and tiny little penguin toy with the tiniest little fleece scarf. I am so smitten with those penguins!
I bought cups of blue jello and Swedish Fish and added the fish to the cups (Use a knife to slice a hole in the jello and slide the fish in) Another tiny penguin with a scarf stood guard of the jello cups.
A white metal bucket held penguin beaks, or mini carrots, for the kids to snack on too.
I set up our old igloo tent from IKEA next to the table and the kids played with tiny arctic animals and goofed around. My son and our dog have claimed the igloo as their own, and lay in it to lounge and read….looks like I will have it set up for a few more days.
