Fireman Themed Birthday Party Tips

Red Hot Tips for Planning a Fireman Themed Birthday Party

fireman-birthday-party-ideas

I am thrilled to have Jen from Banner Events and Stephanie from Spaceships and Laser Beams sharing tips to help make your little fireman’s party a hit!  Both ladies are immensely talented, and have fantastic ideas and tips!

Heat things up at your next fireman birthday party with these red hot planning tips from Jennifer Carver of Spaceships and Laser Beams.   You’ll love Jen’s blazing hot ideas for decorating, games and activities and refreshments!

When decorating for a fireman themed party, a color palette of reds and oranges mixed with black and white is a natural choice.  Thinking of the traditional colors of both the fireman’s uniform and truck as well as the firehouse Dalmatian and the bright colored flames will help in styling the party.  Incorporate these colors into tabletop décor by layering tablecloths, placemats, napkins, plates, cutlery and cups in those colors.  Add interest by using fireman party printables to tie in the theme.  Consider themed beverage labels, napkin wraps, name place cards and even centerpiece picks for adding that extra pizazz to the table décor.  Many party stores sell fire hydrant cups, toy fire trucks and plush spotted dogs which make for great decorations and also double as popular take home favors at the end of the party.

Create the allusion of flames with colored tissue paper or crepe paper streamers.  Add orange and red balloons to reinforce the theme and add some festiveness to the decor.  Cover empty cereal and shoe boxes with butcher or wrapping paper and use a marker to fashion them into buildings.  Popsicle sticks can be glued together to create fireman ladders.

Many local fire stations offer free materials that would make great party decorations, favors and activities.  Items such as plastic fire hats, fire chief stickers and activity books are most likely available free of charge.  Contact your local department to see what they may be able to offer you.

Speaking of your local fire station, why not plan a visit there as part of your celebration?   Imagine the thrill your guests will experience seeing real firemen, fire trucks and a firehouse while attending your party!  Other fireman party activities could include “pin the ladder on the fire truck”, a fireman training obstacle course and a fire truck coloring page.

Wow your guests with an over-the-top fireman themed dessert and refreshment table.  Transform everyday treats and snacks into new and improved fireman themed versions.  Add a creative name label to red licorice making them “fireman hoses”.  Fill small pails with blue Jell-O or jelly bean “water”.  Cheetos and cheese balls can be “flames” or “fire balls”.  Fill jars and containers with red or slightly hot candy.  Some ideas include Atomic Fire Balls, Red Hots, Hot Tamales and cinnamon disks.

Don’t forget the real water!  After all of those hot treats, children will appreciate the cool down!  You can serve a variety of red, orange and yellow beverages like fruit punch, orange soda and lemonade.  Beverage labels can add that festive touch to tie your drinks to the fireman party theme.

Now that you are equipped with several creative party ideas, go light up your child’s fireman loving eyes with a party that he or she will love!
