Fall Festival With Social ArtWorking. In my mind, there is nothing better than a Fall Festival…a cool, crisp afternoon spent picking pumpkins, playing games, and sipping cider. So, when Social ArtWorking asked me to host a fun, kid friendly painting party, I jumped at the chance, and hosted a small Fall Festival in my back yard.
My son helped me choose the cute little squirrel from Social Artworking, and we painted the design on planks from Walnut Hollow. I ordered some decor and reused some decor from Oriental Trading Company. I also made some decor with my Cricut Maker and Easy Press. Finally, my hubby and I went to the horse supply store {who knew such a place was even open in my bustling city} and bought some bales of hay. {You don’t want that in your car or trunk, find a friend with a truck…trust me} Once I had all of my decorating supplies, I decided on a menu. I wanted fun, fall foods for the kids. I bought some caramel apples, fall candies, donut holes, and pretzel sticks, and of course, apple cider.
Before the party, I set up our back yard party space to look like a Fall Festival. The counter was covered in burlap and wooden crates. I decorated the crates and counter with fun woodland animals, a cute little gnome, a finished painting, pumpkins, and delicious treats. I decided to dip the donut holes in Nutella and chocolate sprinkles to make tiny hedgehogs and acorns for the kids to nibble on. I hung a FALL banner above the counter too. To keep the party space closed off a little bit, I added a vintage wagon full of mums to one side, and the painting table to the other.
The painting table was a simple folding table covered with more burlap. I placed all the wooden planks on the table, and used a foam wagon centerpiece to hold the paints from Social ArtWorking. Instead of chairs, I covered a bale of hay with a folded sheet. The kids LOVED this!
I also set up a few classic games in the party space. I found a giant outdoor checkers game at Target on clearance this summer and it was perfect for our party. Opposite of the checkers game, I set up a wooden tic tac toe board on the second bale of hay. The kids got such a kick out of playing tic tac toe with gourds.
We had an amazing time painting and playing. My sons’ friends are already asking if I will have another party like this for Christmas!
