CardMaker Magazine and Sizzix Blog Hop on Everyday Party Magazine.
If you love making cards, there’s a blog hop for that! Sizzix & CardMaker Magazine have combined forces to bring you a flurry of card projects, ideas and inspiration featuring cardmaking dies by Stephanie Barnard. The CardMaker Magazine and Sizzix Blog Hop is featuring one new cardmaking project every single day from June 1-13. You’ll have the chance to feast your eyes on a rainbow of cards. And you will be inspired to make DIY cards for all kinds of fancy, fun and whatever-else-comes-your-way kinds of occasions.
I am the caboose on this card making train, so be sure to go back through everyone’s amazing creations and leave LOTS of comments!
I had so much fun creating this little card invitation for our Hello Kitty Pool Party!
Supplies:
Stephanie Barnard Dies, Sizzix Triplits Die Set 13 PK – Hello Sunshine, and Sizzix Triplits Die Set 12 PK -Banners #2
Sizzix Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer Thin Dies
Sizzix Accessory, Cutting Pads, Standard, 1 PR
Lots of paper, coordinating patterns and solids
Glue stick
Tape runner
Printed invitation details
Twine
Hot glue gun and glue
Tooth picks
Small paper favor bag (to use as an envelope)
I began by cutting all of my small pieces out. (Make your Sizzix Sandwich; Sizzix Accessory Cutting Pad Standard Size #1, Sizzix Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer Thin Dies, Paper, Selected Dies, Sizzix Accessory Cutting Pad Standard Size #2) and roll through the Sizzix Big Shot as normal.
Once I had all of the little pieces cut out, I glued the layers together with my glue gun or tape runner. Then, I cut and folded my blue vellum paper to my desired size. (I wanted it to fit in the small craft bags I already had) Next, I cut my toothpicks down to size and hot glued the small banner cuts to my twine. I wrapped the twine around the toothpicks and hot glued the toothpicks to the bottom of my card. I glued the layered sun and clouds above the banner.
For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Hello Kitty scrapbook paper (purchased at Michael’s) to fit inside the card, and glued it down. Once that was dry, I glued the party details info sheet on top. Finally, I added the “Hello Summer” word layers above the party details with my tape runner.
These fun invitations were mailed in a cute striped craft bag from Pick Your Plum, and were a great way to get the guests excited about the party!
But wait! There’s more…
