It’s officially my favorite week of the summer, and I am so excited! I love Shark Week! And, I have since I was a little kid. So, we have Shark Week watch parties every year. This year we decided to go a little smaller with our watch party, but I had to make some goodies for our guests. And this free shark sublimation image (and SVG) is perfect for small DIY projects for any shark themed celebration.
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional.
Shark SVG Files
I love to use my Cricut to make custom shirts, bags, and even beach towels. Two of my favorite cut files are from this SVG Saturday Week 31 Shark SVG Files post.
I also REALLY love this Shark Week Towel DIY!
But, those are SVG files, and while I am sharing this image as a FREE SVG as well, I used it as a sublimation image and added a little flair to inexpensive neoprene popsicle holders.
Shark Sublimation Image
Sublimation shirt printing is a specific process of printing that first involves printing onto a special sheet of paper, then transferring that image onto another a polyester mix product with a heat press.
Sublimating costs more than other methods, but it will last longer, without cracking or peeling over time.
I bought an Epson EcoTank Printer and filled it with Hiipoo Sublimation Ink. You need to do this with a new printer that hasn’t ever been filled with traditional ink. (Pineapple Paper Co. has a great post on converting your printer!) You will also need special sublimation paper, shirts or cups for sublimating, and a heat or mug press.
Make a Shark Popsicle Holder
I have a surplus of everything I need at home to make all the things, but in case you don’t, here’s an Amazon list for you!
- Shark Sublimation Image (SVG is here), use code SHARKSUBLIMATION to download it FREE
- Epson EcoTank Printer
- Heat Press Tape
- Hiipoo Sublimation Ink
- Sublimation Paper
- Heat Press
- Popsicle Holder
- Lint Roller
After you set up your printer, download the Shark Image from the shop. Then, print it, be sure to MIRROR the image before you print it!
Next, use the lint roller on your pressing surface. Then, use heat press tape to tape your image where you want it to be.(If you are pressing a shirt, place card stock or butcher paper between the shirt, under the shirt, and on top of the shirt) Finally, press the image onto your can cooler, shirt, or mug!
Once the product has cooled, remove the image and enjoy!
