Giving Tuesday
Today is Giving Tuesday, my family loves giving back, paying it forward, or simply doing unto others as we would have done unto ourselves. For this reason, we always adopt a family for Christmas. (We explain to the little ones that some families need Santa to help with house bills and utilities, and it is our job as a family to make sure the children have toys to open on Christmas morning.) We also buy gift cards at less expensive fast food restaurants and leave them with the manager so they can provide a warm meal to someone in need. We have brought cold drinks to a bus stop on a hot day, and bought drinks for the elderly waiting for their retirement home bus to pick them up outside of the store….as a family, we love being able to make someone’s day a little easier! In honor of Giving Tuesday, I created some free printable tags and filled up blessing bags to hand out with the boys.
Our blessing bags had deodorant, new thick socks, bandaids, a toothbrush and tooth paste, a new wash cloth, shout wipes, alcohol wipes, a sewing kit, and some snacks in it. We will also keep bottles of water in the car, and extra fast food gift cards too. I would love to hear what you would or do put in your blessing bags too!
The tag is a gentle reminder to give to others when you are able. It is one of my favorite bible verses! So many times we get hurried and forget all of the blessings we have been given, I know I am guilty of that often. I hope that if you are able you are spurred to give back as well.
These tags would be perfect for school, church, or scout service projects too!
Please remember that our free printables are free for personal use only. Please do not edit, alter, or resell them.
