For my boys’ birthday I threw a dino party, featured in the Fall 2014 issue of EPM. I am a crafty person and I LOVE creating projects for parties. My hands down favorite DIY project for their party was the dino bones! It’s really such a simple dinosaur bone DIY, and I could not have been more excited about how great they turned out! And, more importantly, my boys loved them! You ready to find out how I made them?
I started by sketching pictures of dino bones onto a large sheet of white paper and cut them out.
Next, I traced the templates onto 3’x1 Make It: Fun® Foam sheets that the fabulous ladies at FloraCraft sent to me.
Now if you don’t have a FloraCraft® StyroCutter Plus®, you need to get one. It is amazing! It melts right through the Styrofoam and leaves so much less mess. I used it to cut out all the bones. I made a bone for each of the kids as party favors and I also made them for décor on the door and the tables, so I did a lot of cutting.
To finish off the bones, I covered them with a coat of FloraCraft® Smooth Finish™ to give them smooth bone texture. Then I spray painted them with an ivory color. I wanted a fossil look so I didn’t paint them perfectly. I was so excited with how fabulous they turned out! I mean the giddy giggling, can’t stop smiling and making your husband come running out to see how great they look, excited!
They were the perfect touch for the Dino party and all the kids were so thrilled to go home with their own dino bone.

This is adorable! It would be a fun way to decorate a boy’s bedroom or playroom, or even a classroom, too. Thank you!
