4th of July Cookies
By My Thrifty Sister
It really isn’t a secret that I am a fan of all things patriotic. My birthday cakes have always had sparklers on them, 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays…red, white and blue is truly my favorite color combo. It’s also no real secret that I like cute cookies, but I really lack the patience and skill to make them. Well, my friends, these 4th of July cookies are so perfect for me! Store bought sugar cookies and frosting? How easy is that?!
These cookies made their EPM debut in the Summer issue, in My Thrifty Sister‘s 4th of July Party. I love how simple it is to turn plain store bought sugar cookies into something so adorable and festive!
Supplies:
Sugar cookies (store bought, homemade, semi-homemade)
White frosting
Food Coloring
Ziploc baggies
Tooth picks
separate the frosting into 3 small bowls. Drop in red food coloring into one bowl until it is the right red, do the same for the blue. Warm in the microwave briefly, and add the frosting to a ziplock bags and cut off the corner tip for piping. Make concentric circles in all 3 colors. Then drag a toothpick from the center to the edge of the cookie to make the firework look.
I just LOVE this so much! Happy 4th of July!
