DIY Monogrammed Can Coozie
It’s summer time, so we are spending a lot of time out back at the pool and on the beach. And, it’s Florida, so it’s hot, and we are going through a LOT of canned and bottled beverages. I almost always keep a cup of ice water with me, but there are times that I really want a Coke or even a more adult friendly canned drink, and I want it to stay cool. Of course I could pour my drink over a cold glass full of ice, if I am at home. But, when I am out at the beach, I just slide my can into an inexpensive coozie. You can find nice can coolers online, or you can DIY a custom can coozie for yourself like I did!
Make a custom can koozie
Do you spell it coozie or koozie? I think either one works. It’s super easy to make a custom can cooler. I make myself a new one every year. I don’t especially like sharing my coozies with my kids, so I add my monogram to mine.
There are several ways to add a monogram to your projects, but for this one, I have already made a circle to add your monogram. {Check out this post for links to several awesome Monogram fonts} If you find an image or SVG you like that doesn’t have a place for a monogram already, check out this post for step by step instructions.
Supplies
Making a custom coozie is as easy as making a shirt or bag. The supply list is identical too, and you likely have just about everything you need at home already.
SVG Files {Use code OCTOPUS to download the SVG file FREE}
Step 1:
Download the SVG File.
Step 2:
Upload the SVG to Cricut Design Space and size it to fit your coozie, bag, shirt, to hat.
Step 3:
Add your monogram, and size it to fit the circle space in the octopus. If you are using the same color iron on for the image and the text, attach the monogram to the image.
Step 4:
Send the image to cut. Don’t forget to mirror the cut file and place the Iron On on the mat shiny side down.
Step 5:
Weed the excess Iron On, and prepare the surface for pressing. If you are using an EasyPress 2, follow Cricut’s recommended heat settings.
Step 6:
Press the image onto the surface, and enjoy your new custom can coozie, hat, shirt, or bag!
