Shark Week Party
With Cricut® Explore Air 2™ Special Edition Martha Stewart Bundle
Shark Week Party With Cricut® Explore Air 2™ Special Edition Martha Stewart Bundle. July is one of my very favorite months for several reasons, but Shark Week is a BIG reason for sure! For as long as I can remember, I have watched Shark Week. Once my boys were old enough, we would include them in our annual Shark Week watch parties. Eventually,I decided to turn our small family viewing parties into bigger Shark Week viewing parties, with friends, family, pool time, yummy snacks, and of course, Shark Week on the big screen.
We will be out of town for this year’s Shark Week, so we decided to host our party a little early, and play re-runs of old episodes of Shark Week. I fell in love with the Martha Stewart Celebrations Indigo party line, and I thought it would be a fantastic color palette for our party. Have you seen Martha’s assortment of party supplies and décor in 10 beautiful themes? From vibrant Pink Ombré and summertime Indigo to whimsical Iridescent and sophisticated Sterling, each theme features a unique assortment of party-planning essentials!
Of course, my gorgeous Cricut® Explore Air 2™ Special Edition Martha Stewart Bundle worked overtime for this party too! Thankfully, it will cut and write up to two times faster than previous Cricut Explore models! Like other Cricut Explore 2 machines, the Martha Stewart Machine will cut over 100 materials — everything from cardstock, vinyl and iron-on to specialty materials like glitter paper, cork, and bonded fabric. I was able to design on the go with my phone, and cut quickly once I was back in bluetooth range of my Martha Stewart Machine. {I LOVE that feature} This beautiful machine comes with 25 exclusive Martha Stewart projects, plus a color-coordinated Basic Tool Set with a weeder, spatula, scraper, tweezers, and scissors, but I used the great white shark cut file from Design Space for most of these party decorations. My Martha Machine helped me customize paper napkins, create an eye catching party backdrop, make cupcake liners, a fun banner, and even wrappers for bottles of bubbles.
The party was a bit of a rain out, so we had to host it inside. I decided to use our white focal wall for the backdrop, and I created an eye catching wood shark sign to hang above the sweets table. I added Cricut Iron On to the simple Indigo Martha Stewart Banner, and hung it on the front of the table for a pop of color.
The table was simply decorated with a white cake and a toy shark topper, chum bucket cupcakes, and Martha Stewart Celebrations buckets filled with rock candy sticks, gum balls, and gummy sharks.
I covered a folding table with a white and blue table cloth, and dressed it with plates, cups, and napkins from the Martha Stewart Celebrations line. I cut small orange sharks from Iron On and EasyPressed them on the Martha Stewart Indigo paper napkins. {This is one of my favorite party tricks} On the center of the table, I added paper lanterns, also from the Celebrations line, and a bucket of Swedish Fish. Next to each place setting, I added a bottle of bubbles, and a DIY sun catcher for the kids to paint. These were great activities to keep the kids entertained while the adults chatted before we started watching Shark Week!
I also made shark shirts for the kids as party favors. I used my Martha Machine to customize so many aspects of this party.
This is hands down one of my favorite parties to host each year, and as soon as one is done, I start planning for the next!
