Easy DIY Picnic Dish
Easy DIY Picnic Dish. Do you have a signature dish you make for every party? I have a few must make recipes for parties, and I am often asked to bring one or more dishes to parties and family gatherings. Likewise, my hubby has a knock your socks off chili recipe. However, sometimes there are more than one mac and cheese option, or baked beans option, or even chili option…so how do you know which is which? Quickly make your own signature dish!

These dishes are great for identifying left overs too {if you have any!} I recently started using glass etching cream, and I don’t know what took me so long to start! Etching glass is super simple, and a really affordable way to make a meaningful gift.
I am actually making a few Roe House Chili dishes for my hubby for Father’s Day.
Supplies to make your own custom casserole dish:
Design Space Access or other design software
Begin by measuring the space for the text or design on the glass dish. Create a design, text, or even logo in your design software or in Design Space. If necessary, upload your file to Design Space, and scale the image to fit the dish. Send the image/text to cut.
Weed the image/text to use as a stencil, and use transfer tape to apply to the clean casserole dish. {I use an alcohol wipe to clean the glass} remove the transfer tape, and reuse to tape off the glass around the vinyl stencil.
Apply etching cream according to package directions.
Voila! Now you have an awesome family picnic ready casserole dish. Or leftover container…or even gift idea for the hard people to shop for in your life!
