Plaid Camping Party
Plaid Camping Party. One of my favorite parties ever was my son’s camping party. It was an amazing party, my son, and all of his friends loved it. It was hosted in the back yard, with tents for every family to take home as party favors. Kids roasted marshmallows and hot dogs over a fire pit, and swam in the “swimming hole”
Since that first camping party, I have shot and hosted a few other camping themed parties. Most recently, I shot this fun camping themed party to showcase our awesome new Camping Party Printable Set. {The set includes fill in the blank invitations, food tents, and party circles}
I wanted this party to be simple to set up, because busy mom life, amiright? I used my Cricut, Xyron, Paper House Camping Papers and Stickers, and our Camping Party Printable Set. I also used what I had around my house already, burlap fabric, jute cording, and empty cans.
I created a simple banner with Paper House Papers, my Cricut, my Xyron Mega Runner, and jute cording. I hung it above the party table. I draped the table with burlap fabric, and added snacks and drinks.
A three tiered tray was the perfect place for trail mix, decorated with party circle stickers; graham crackers, chocolate bars and big and little marshmallows. A simple cake was topped with a folded piece of cardstock to resemble a tent and the cake plate rim was decorated with dimensional stickers from Paper House. Next to the cake, I used a simple wooden crate to hold more snacks and Coca-Cola bottles. Small branches were placed on top of the crate with the Star Finder. Empty food cans were decorated with plaid paper (run through the Xyron Creative Station) and more dimensional stickers from Paper House. I filled one with bamboo skewers, and another with glow sticks.
The table was darling, and if it was a real celebration, I would have had the kids make their own Star Finders.
