Spring Blossoms with Social Artworking
Spring Blossoms with Social Artworking. Spring has just about sprung in the South, and I am embracing every moment of it before the sweltering summer heat takes over. I recently decided to host some girlfriends for a fun afternoon of Social Artworking, and girl time away from the kids and guys in our lives. I really try to invite a few friends over as often as possible, it’s a great way to recharge our mom and wife batteries.
Since the weather is warming up, I took the opportunity to pick up some new flowers for the garden and pots. I added some to pots, and others will be transplanted into our garden now that my Social Artworking party is done. I also try to buy myself fresh flowers every week when I go to the grocery store, I love having fresh flowers in the house! I gathered all of my new potted plants, and my fresh bouquets and placed them on the back deck for my party. It was a simple way to decorate the space, and use items I already had. I even used an old watering can from my great grandmother to hold fresh cut hydrangea blooms. It was a great way to tie the decor into the painting project, and have a meaningful decoration on the deck!
Of course you can’t have a party without food and drinks, so I made some scones and purchased my favorite donuts for the party. I also had a few bottles of wine, champagne, and water available.
I didn’t want to have the party space cluttered with a table, so I set up the easels and canvases on the bar. I actually liked painting standing up! I pre-painted a canvas with a couple of my boys before the party. It was a good chance to connect with them, and create something together.
Since it is already a little warm out, I set up a small fan and our outdoor air conditioner to help dry the paintings a little faster and keep us cooler.
We all had a fabulous time sipping, snacking, gabbing, and painting our Spring Blossoms! We can’t wait for our next Social Artworking Party!
Many thanks to Social Artworking for sponsoring this post.
