Garden Party
Garden Party. I love Spring! So I was super excited to be invited to participate in this awesome Spring Party Blog Hop! Be sure to check out all of the other awesome party bloggers at the end of this post.
My third son loves to garden. He has a gift for it that I just don’t seem to possess myself, despite my trying. So, when I purchased all the plants and flowers for my recent Social Artworking Party, he was THRILLED to be able to add some color to our sad garden space. He has even asked me to get a few more plants to fill out the rest of the garden, and he helped up re-route some of the sprinklers in the yard to cover the garden better. My mom and sister also like to garden, so I set up a small potting table and some plants and seeds for us to get our gardens started this Spring.
I started by hand lettering a small chalkboard from Oriental Trading Company. (Would you like that as an SVG file too?)I used my Cricut to make a sweet little pennant bunting to add to the middle of the chalkboard for a pop of color. Next, I moved small shutter shelf I made to the back deck. I love the crisp Farmhouse White color from DecoArt! Since I use it for a lot of high traffic things, I used DecoArt Curb Appeal paint on it. It cleans up easily and can be touched up with a quick swipe of paint.
Once the chalkboard and shelf were on the deck, I brought out some of the plants I bought, along with some seeds, soil, and terra cotta pots. I used pretty glass bottles for watering the plants too. (Since my watering cans are full of plants right now)
Of course a party isn’t complete without a cake, so I had a naked cake on a pretty jadeite green cake plate from World Market. I served Mimosas for the adults, and Shirley Temples for the kids. It was a beautiful spring like afternoon spending time enjoying my family!
How will you celebrate Spring? Have you ever hosted a Garden Party? I feel like this will be an annual thing for us now!

This is such a great way to celebrate the hopeful coming of Spring! Fun that you could be outside. It’s still too cold here in Utah.
