Dinosaur Plant DIY

Dinosaur Plant DIY. All summer long we have hosted STEM activity days at our house, followed by a little fun in the pool or watching a movie. This week we went prehistoric and shark week, and watched a show about Megalodons. 
Before we started the movie, we set up a Dinosaur Plant. (My only wish is that I had bought more for all of the kids!) During the show, we would check our amazing Dinosaur Plant and see that, it was indeed, growing! 
After the show was over, just about an hour after planting the Dinosaur Plant, it had fully opened, and “grown”. The kids made coffee fossils and we talked about carbon dating and fossils. 
The kids have talked about this stem activity non-stop since we did it. The awesome thing about this Dinosaur Plant is that it can dry out, and then be regrown! So cool, right?
