DIY Checkers Game. You guys!! We are spending so.much.time on our back patio, in fact, I am writing this post from the patio now! I absolutely love this space, and there is very little I could do to make me love it more…but one of things this space truly needed was a fan. Florida is hot, very hot, and it is downright miserable outside sometimes. But, the good people at Sylvane saw my new space and offered to send me an indoor/outdoor AC, and it is amazing! Sylvane sent me the Hessaire indoor/outdoor air conditioner and it has seriously changed my summer! It was ready to use as soon as we pulled it out of the box, we simply added water and plugged it in! We are spending so much more time outside now with this “cool” new appliance! One of my kids’ favorite games is checkers. I recently found some wooden stars in my craft stash and wanted to figure out a way to use them…Then, I saw a cute round tray at Target…and my wheels started turning…I checked out Cricut Design Space and saw they had a checkerboard design. Yes for simple projects, amIright?!
I adjusted the size of the checkerboard to fit the metal tray, and cut it with Cricut Vinyl. I let the boys paint the stars with DecoArt paint, and add the vinyl to the tray. In less than 30 minutes, we had a fun new game for “cool” new outdoor space.
Many thanks to Sylvane for sponsoring this post, and helping keep us cool this summer!
