Fast & Furious™ Watch Party. Y’all I LOVE the Fast & Furious™ movie series. I am always one of the first at the theater to watch the movies, and we buy the DVDs as soon as they are released. It’s no surprise this series holds the record for having the largest fan base with the most profit of any other Universal Pictures series! (I think my family has definitely helped push them over the top) My kids love the series as well. We have watched every movie several times, and are so very excited about the F8 DVD release on July 11th!On a recent trip to Walmart, I saw the new Fast & Furious™ play sets. My kids still love laying on the floor and playing cars, and making their toys “drift” and stunt drive. They are constantly using boxes to create tracks for their cars. Since we are having a super rainy summer, I decided to buy a couple of the play sets, and set up a movie theater viewing party for the boys, my nephew, and a few friends. While I was at Walmart, I bought extra Fast & Furious™ cars for the kids, boxed candies, and drinks for our viewing party.
Each of the guests was sent a movie ticket style invitation and play spending money. I even mailed invites to my own kids. They were so excited to get mail! The printable play money can be downloaded below, as well as the link to order the invitation from Pineapple Paper Company for Everyday Party Magazine.
I wanted the kids to enjoy a movie marathon while they played with their new Fast & Furious™ play sets. I used our lemonade stand to create a fun movie style concession stand with freshly popped popcorn, theater boxed candies, and small cans of soda. Each of the boys got play money to buy their snacks and drinks all day, so they got a bonus math lesson too! They all felt so cool “buying” their treats all day. I added candy to my retro candy dispenser for the kids too, that was also a big hit!
We watched the first and second movies, as well as the 7th movie to get ready for F8 which released on DVD on July 11th. The movies played in the background, and the boys played on the floor with the play sets, giggling and munching on popcorn! They all loved how the cars and playsets matched the movies.
Before the boys left for the day, I handed out individual Fast & Furious™ cars and a box of movie theater candy to each one as a simple party favor.
We had a fantastic day playing and watching the movies. (And even learning some math) We are SO excited to watch F8 together, and the kids have all asked if we can have another watch and play day!
